GEO glossary
Short, citable definitions of the terms used in AI visibility. In this glossary, GEO always means Generative Engine Optimization, never geospatial.
GEO-AI is a Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) platform. It measures and improves how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok understand, describe and recommend your brand. It is not a geospatial or mapping tool. Available worldwide, for every sector and language.
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)
The practice of improving how generative AI engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok understand, describe and recommend a brand. Category: visibility in LLMs.
AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)
Optimizing content so answer engines quote it directly as the answer to a question. AEO is a subset of GEO focused on question-and-answer formats, FAQs and structured data.
Agent Experience (AX)
How easy it is for an AI agent to read, understand and act on your website: clear entity data, prices, availability, policies and machine-readable markup. Good AX lets an agent recommend or buy your product.
Agentic Web
The emerging web where AI agents search, compare and transact on behalf of people. Brands need structured, verifiable information to be chosen by those agents.
AI share of voice
The percentage of AI answers in a category that mention or recommend your brand compared with competitors.
AI hallucination (brand)
A false statement an AI engine makes about a brand, such as an invented price, product or certification.
Entity clarity
How unambiguously AI engines identify who you are, what you sell and which category you belong to.
AI Visibility Score
GEO-AI's 0-100 score combining 5 weighted pillars across 125 prompts and 5 engines.
